The Consulate General of the Philippines in Los Angeles was established in 1947 to implement Philippine foreign policy within its jurisdiction and foster closer relations with the ever-growing Filipino-American community. It serves the needs of the largest Filipino community in the United States through the following services: assistance to distressed Filipinos, economic diplomacy, issuance of passports and visas, civil registration, notarials and other legal services, and the promotion of Philippine culture. The Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC is the principal representative of the Philippine Government in the conduct of its relations with the Government of the United States of America.
